From Sketches to Reality

The Georgia Center's original building was completed during the winter of 1957. From top to bottom, the Stevens and Wilkinson sketches and the "actuality," for the Center's Lower Lobby --designed for educational exhibits and displays; a hotel room--there were 148 in the original building; and the Hotel Registration Desk area.

The annual report of the Georgia Center for 1956-1957 stated: "Early in the planning of this project it was conceived that the building and equipment should be executed so as to make each an important and integral part of the Center's teaching program. This conception has become a reality."
