Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall Sports Museum Tour

Relive the greatest moments in Georgia sports history, recall favorite UGA athletes, see Herschel Walker’s Heisman trophy and other memorabilia, and keep abreast of current happenings in Bulldog athletics. All Georgia’s sports teams, both men’s and women’s, are celebrated in this museum. If time allows, participants can visit the Dooley Sculpture Garden, adjacent to the Butts-Mehre Building, which contains 11 distinct garden areas and is about the length of a football field. Wear comfortable shoes.

Founders Memorial Garden Tour

The Founders Memorial Garden on North Campus serves as a vibrant and versatile space, enriching the UGA campus and wider Athens community. Managed by the UGA College of Environment and Design, this historic garden is an active teaching environment for students who study its diverse plant collections, historic layout and unique garden features. Visitors of all ages — from school groups learning about native plants to garden enthusiasts exploring Southern horticulture — find the garden to be an enriching experience. Shuttle provided.

Join the Georgia Center culinary team in the Savannah Room Atrium for a cooking demonstration and tasting, featuring chicken roulade, brown butter sage orzo and roasted broccolini.

Green Roof Garden Tour

Did you know that UGA has a 3,000-square-foot garden on the roof of the Geography/Geology building? Since 2007, professors, students and volunteers have planted and maintained this flourishing fruit, vegetable and native plant garden. The Green Roof Garden donates its produce to Campus Kitchen at UGA, which donates it to Athens families in need, as well as the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and other institutions working toward food insecurity. The Georgia Museum of Art is UGA’s campus museum and Georgia’s official state museum of art. With over 19,000 works in its permanent collection and a range of exciting special exhibitions, there is sure to be something for everyone. Shuttle provided.

Pollinator Tour

Are you a fan of pollinators? If so, you will enjoy this tour of pollinator plants led by plant experts from the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. This is a great time to plan which new pollinator plants to introduce into your space as we move into fall planting time. If we are lucky, we will meet some unique pollinating insects that frequent the plants in bloom! Wear comfortable shoes.

UGA Baseball: Behind the scenes tour at Foley Field

From the grandstands to the training facilities that help the team compete at a championship level, UGA Baseball has a new look and feel. We will be touring Foley Field and the behind-the-scenes facilities to learn about the changes that have been made, including pitching labs, hitting tunnels, field improvements, and improved fan seating and viewing areas.
