General Information
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education is a full-service, residential
adult-learning facility on the campus of The University of Georgia. The
Georgia Center conveniently combines a modern 200-bedroom full-service
hotel, dining services, conference rooms, auditoriums, a library, and
computer labs in one facility. We offer a full-service Business Center,
complete with computers and printers, Internet and e-mail access, photocopying
and fax services, as well as instructional and office supplies--all for
a nominal fee.
If you require special services, facilities, or dietary considerations to support your participation in a Georgia Center program, contact your coordinator, Sandi Kilgo at 706-542-1451 by February 25, 2000.
The Georgia Center is located on South Lumpkin Street adjacent to the South Campus Parking Deck. Also, the Georgia Center is a smoke-free environment. The University of Georgia is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution.
Conference Registration: Registration is limited. To register, complete the enclosed registration form and mail it to the address as shown. You may also use fax or phone, or you may register at www.georgiacenter.uga.edu/gc/upcoming.html. Prepayment is required to guarantee your registration. Purchase orders will be accepted at the highest registration fee listed.
Lodging: We are a full-service hotel with hair dryers, coffeepots, irons and ironing boards in all of the rooms. Some suites and smoking rooms may be available.
A block of rooms is being held for your conference until 5 p.m. ET, February 11, 2000. Indicate your lodging preference in the appropriate spaces on the registration form. If your choice is unavailable, the best alternative will be confirmed. If lodging at the Georgia Center is unavailable, we will make every effort to arrange for your accommodations at a local hotel. Room rates at local hotels may vary. Hotel reservation guarantees are required at the Georgia Center and local hotels. Your credit card will be charged one nights lodging if you do not cancel by 4:00 p.m. the day before your arrival date. Non-guaranteed reservations will be released at 4:00 p.m. the day before your arrival date.
Transportation: All flights into Athens connect through Charlotte, N.C. Regular ground transportation is available from Atlantas Hartsfield International Airport to the Georgia Center. A map, parking information, and further details will be provided with your conference confirmation. Directions to the Georgia Center may be found at www. georgiacenter.uga.edu/gc/directions.html.
Program Cancellation Policies: (1) The Georgia Center will gladly issue full refunds for cancellations made by 5 p.m. ET, February 25, 2000. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Substitutions are encouraged. (2) In the event a program is cancelled for any reason, the Georgia Center will not be responsible for any cancellation changes/charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
