1040 Income Tax Workshop

The purpose of this course is to update practitioners about the changes and major issues in preparing individual income tax returns for the 2005 tax year. This practical, hands-on workshop will focus on the key areas an experienced practitioner should know in order to have a successful tax season.

Topics Include:

  • Form changes, filing issues, and up-to-the-minute announcements
  • Issues for families: Dependent-care credit, college-planning credits
  • Investment reporting: Calculating stock basis for sales
  • Itemized deductions: Checklist of deductible medical expenses
  • Real estate: Primary residence, home-office issues, second homes
  • Pension issues: IRA contributions, SEPs and other pension choices

Legislative Income Tax Update

Instructors

Jeffrey C. Snyder, CPA, is an alumnus of The Ohio State University, where he received his undergraduate training in accounting and economics. He earns high evaluations from course participants for his enthusiasm and broad knowledge of accounting and tax information.

Kenneth R. Campbell, CPA, is a graduate of the University of Tulsa. He has presented the 1040 Income Tax Workshops for the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education since their inception. (1) We will gladly issue full refunds for cancellations made by 5:00 p.m. ET, three business days before a course begins. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Substitutions will be allowed. (2) Transfers may be made to another tax course with a $25 transfer fee. (3) If a course is cancelled for any reason, the Georgia Center will not be responsible for any cancellation changes/charges assessed by airlines, travel agencies, or hotels.
