Agenda

7.5 continuing education hours (lecture and laboratory) for full attendance.
Sessions to be held at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery is designed for the further development of veterinarians currently performing endoscopic surgery. There is minimal time spent in lectures, and there is no instruction on anesthesia, trocar placement, or basic laparoscopic skills. Nearly the whole day will be dedicated to performing biopsies and a wide variety of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic procedures that we perform routinely in our practices.

10:15-12:30 p.m. Hands-On Laboratory on Laparoscopy

1:15-4:30 Laparoscopy Followed by Thoracoscopy
4:30-5:00 Participant Roundtable: What Did I Learn?

*Laboratory procedures include:

    Laparoscopy — Biopsies, laparoscopic-assisted treatments of gastropexy, cystoscopic calculi removal, feeding tube placement, cryptorchid castrations, ovariohysterectomy, and endoscopic knot tying.

    Thoracoscopy — Pericardial resection, lung biopsies, partial lobectomy, hilar lymph node biopsies, and ligature of the thoracic duct.

Conference Cancellation Policies:
(1) We will gladly issue full refunds for cancellations made by 5:00 p.m. ET, 30 days prior to each event. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Substitutions will be allowed. (2) If a program is cancelled for any reason, neither the Georgia Center nor the College of Veterinary Medicine will be responsible for any cancellation changes/charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Karl Storz Veterinary Endoscopy collaborates with UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine to present the Veterinary Endoscopy Training Symposia. Storz provides critical instrumentation and technical support for the laboratories. As a special offer, Storz will discount from the price of the equipment the registration fee if you purchase an endoscope and a video camera at a course.
