This course will provide lectures on techniques and case examples with psychomotor skills training, knot tying, and use of LigaSure™ and radiofrequency. There will be an all-day laparoscopy and thoracoscopy lab.
Technicians are encouraged to attend the lectures and observe, but not participate in, the hands-on laboratory. Separate laboratory instruction will be provided in equipment care and application.

Laparoscopy Techniques in Lab
(gastropexy, calculi removal, spaying, intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying, excision biopsy of left medial iliac lymph node for cancer staging, dissecting and removing right adrenal gland, and enterostomy feeding tube placement). Other potential procedures include hiatal hernia repair with intracorporeal suturing, gall bladder removal, and retroperitoneal renal dissection with vascular occlusion. |

Athens is served by two airports. Athens-Ben Epps Airport offers connecting flights to and from Charlotte, NC. Program Cancellation Policies:
(1) Refunds (less a $30 processing fee) are available for cancellations made by 5:00 p.m. ET, 30 days prior to the event. No refunds will be issued thereafter; substitutions will be allowed. (2) If a course is cancelled for any reason, neither the Georgia Center nor the College of Veterinary Medicine will be responsible for any charges related to travel.
