The University of Georgia Continuing Education Programs at Gwinnett

The University of Georgia,
Gwinnett University Center

The University of Georgia at the Gwinnett University Center, a unit of the University System of Georgia, was established as a resident credit center in 1984. Its purpose is to provide higher education opportunities for the residents of Gwinnett County, Georgia, and the surrounding area via a consortium arrangement of institutions that include UGA, Georgia Perimeter College, and Georgia State University. Currently, these three institutions deliver instruction and services to more than 3,500 students. The Gwinnett Technical Institute is located across the street.

As part of the ongoing effort to expand programs and services for students and clients, the Gwinnett University Center will soon have a new home. A new building (see drawing above left) is under construction near the present site and is scheduled to open in 2002; the official groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 27, 2000.
