Georgia Center Quarterly On-Line, Summer 95 GEORGIA CENTER QUARTERLY ON-LINE
Summer 1995

WUGA 91.7 FM

WUGA-FM, the National Public Radio affiliate managed by the Georgia Center, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving Northeast Georgia and annually providing more than 8,700 hours of broadcast programming. The station is part of the Center's efforts to fulfill noted author Cyril Houle's notion of the integrative function of adult and continuing education, that is, providing opportunities to address the larger questions of humankind. WUGA-FM, scheduled to increase its power in late 1995, recently began offering information on the World Wide Web and took part in a UGA exchange program with radio professionals from the former states of the Soviet Union.
