Celebrating 40 Years of Service
In January of 1957, the Georgia Center began serving as the continuing education arm of The University of Georgia's teaching, research, and service components. Throughout 1997, the Center will be "Celebrating 40 Years of Service..." in a number of ways, highlighted by a three-day conference for the field of adult and continuing education in September.
Faculty Spotlight
Richard A. LaFleur, as head of UGA's Department of Classics, teaches Latin through both on-campus, classroom classes and, for almost 23 years now, through University System of Georgia Independent Study courses.
UGA and Walter Barnard Hill Awards and Lecture
Each year, UGA honors Walter Barnard Hill, University of Georgia chancellor 1899-1905, through an awards program for public service faculty/representatives and a lecture series. The 1997 award recipients and a summary of last fall's lecture.
Gerontology Outreach Program
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education, in partnership with UGA's Gerontology Center, announced this past fall the development of this new program to provide a range of services for older adults and caregivers
