Accreditation

The University of Georgia is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, specialist and doctorate degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of the University of Georgia. In addition, a number of the individual university departments, degree programs, and service functions are accredited by appropriate professional organizations.

When you complete an Independent and Distance Learning course, the University of Georgia Office of the Registrar will record your grade and can provide documentation in the form of a transcript. Distance learning courses are not distinguished from the corresponding face-to-face courses on student transcripts, since they provide equivalent credit.

Instructions for requesting a copy of your University of Georgia transcript are available here.
