Scheduling examinations
A student who wishes to receive credit for an Independent and Distance Learning course must
take the final examination and, if applicable, midterm examination under the
supervision of an approved testsite official (i.e., college or university testing
center). The student is responsible for scheduling an appointment with a college
or university testing center and for submitting the final (or midterm) examination
request form to Independent and Distance Learning, indicating where and when the examination
will be taken. Students are responsible for test-site fees. Additional
fees may be assessed for examinations with laboratory components. Contact an Independent and Distance Learning student representative if you require additional information or assistance.
Appointments for examinations may be requested through the following:
-
The University of Georgia Test Site: Appointments for examinations may be made by calling the University Testing Services of UGA at (706) 542-3183 in Clark Howell Hall between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Examinations can be scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Appointments are limited; therefore, the student should call as early as possible to make arrangements. There is a $15.00 administration fee payable to the test site at the time of testing. Additional fees may be assessed for examinations with laboratory components. Failure to call ahead for an appointment may result in an additional fee.
- University System of Georgia Test Sites: Contact the testing center official to schedule examinations. A testing fee may be charged. (Go
to index of IDL Official Test Sites).
-
Other Academic Institutions: Contact the testing center or designated testing official at an accredited college or university. A testing fee may be charged. The student should provide Independent and Distance Learning with the proposed test site fax number, if available.
-
Outside the United States: Contact a testing official at an accredited college or university. Students abroad, incarcerated students, and students at military posts may request special testing arrangements by contacting Independent and Distance Learning. A testing fee may be charged by the testing office. The student should provide Independent and Distance Learning with the proposed test site fax number, if available.
If you need a midterm or a final examination request form, please contact the IDL office and one can be provided for you by e-mail, fax or by regular mail. Once you have scheduled the examination
with the testing center, you can fax the midterm or final examination request form or mail the form separately to IDL. Follow the final (or midterm) examination procedures in the IDL Student Handbook.
The examination request form must be completed and received by IDL at least ten
days before the examination date so that the request can be processed and the
examination delivered to the test site by the scheduled test date. (Allow time for mail delivery.)
