"IDL is great – the courses are very stimulating. While you have several months to complete each course, it is important to follow the lesson submission suggestions in your course and to stay on the ball. Excellent staff – they always answered my questions and did what they said they would do.

Many academic advisors find Independent and Distant Learning courses to be a flexible solution for typical problems facing undergraduate students.
- If one of your advisees has been unable to register for a required course because of scheduling conflicts or lack of available seats, he or she may be able to meet that requirement through an IDL course.
- If a student is missing a course required for graduation, IDL may be the solution. Students may register at any time and will have nine months from the date of enrollment to complete their course. The minimum enrollment time is eight weeks.
- Study abroad students may take an online course while in another country.
Students may be enrolled in no more than three IDL courses at one time.
Guidelines for University of Georgia advisors provide more information. Complete policies and procedures are available in the IDL Student Handbook. Please contact us via e-mail or toll-free number if you have questions.
