University System of Georgia Independent and Distance Learning   ->  Lesson Procedures   ->  How to submit lessons   ->  How to submit lessons by e-mail

E-mail

You may e-mail your lessons only if you chose the e-mail lesson submission option at the time of registration.

1. Send e-mail lessons to indstudy@arches.uga.edu. This address is for lesson submission only.

2. In the subject field of the e-mail, include

  • your registration number (located at the top left corner of your certificate of registration)
  • the instructor's last name and first initial
  • the lesson number
  • Example: 55499, DoeJ, Lesson 3

3. In the body of the e-mail, type a header listing

  • your e-mail address
  • the name by which you are registered
  • your registration number
  • the lesson number
  • the course prefix and number
  • the instructor's full name
Remember to include this header information in every e-mail lesson you submit to Independent and Distance Learning.

4. Place the written assignment in the body of the e-mail below the header. You might prefer to type your written assignment in a word processing program, then copy and paste it into the body of the e-mail when you are ready to send it. Please do not use attachments to send your lessons.

5. Remember to save a copy of your lesson on your hard drive or on diskette (or both).

Note: Some lessons for certain courses may include materials that cannot be faxed (e.g., foreign language tapes or lab samples); send these materials by regular mail directly to the instructor. Remember to identify these materials with your name, course number, and lesson number. Your instructor cannot grade your lesson until all materials have been received.
