IDL Web Courses

ALISSA

ALISSA (Asynchronous Learning Interface & Self Study Administrator) was created by IDL to provide a customized online learning environment for independent study web courses. ALISSA gives students control in formatting and submitting assignments, and also provides grades and instructor feedback quickly. Careful design and testing have made ALISSA user-friendly, fast, and reliable.

ALISSA courses are directly connected to IDL’s internal database system. This means that, should you contact our student representatives with a question about a particular assignment or grade, they can assist you more quickly than if you are enrolled in a print-based course.

When you register for an ALISSA course, you will receive an e-mail containing the web address for the course, as well as a user ID that will allow you to create your own password. All course materials and assignments are online. You’ll find it simple to prepare and turn in your assignments using ALISSA.

An additional benefit is that all of your grades and graded assignments, including instructor feedback, will be accessible through your ALISSA course, making it easier for you to prepare for exams.

You can test-drive a sample ALISSA course here. While some features of ALISSA are intentionally disabled in this demo, it will give you a good idea of how the system works.

Please check the Technical Requirements for ALISSA before registering.
