Appeals
The Independent and Distance Learning student is responsible for being familiar with and complying with the policies stated in the Independent and Distance Learning Bulletin and student packet. Any exception to policy must be provided on the basis of student appeal. Students may appeal to the Independent and Distance Learning Appeals Committee for an exception to IDL policy; appeals are reviewed on the basis of justifiable and documented circumstances. Independent and Distance Learning does not adjudicate grade appeals.
The student appeal must be written or typed, and must include the following:
1. The student's current mailing address
2. The student's daytime telephone number
3. The course(s) to which the appeal pertains
4. The exception or waiver of policy requested
5. A description of the circumstances upon which the appeal is based (attach any supporting documentation)
6. The student's signature, printed or typed name, and Social Security number
The letter of appeal and accompanying documentation must be submitted to:
