Personal Property Valuation - Methodology: Research and Analysis - PP/GJ202 Event #63804

This course teaches the skills necessary to research primary and secondary resources that are required for identification and market analysis. 2.8 CEUs

Topics discussed include:
• The relationship between valuation theory and market economics and statistics
• How to match appraisal methods to appraisal purposes and objectives
• Online market research and analysis of market data
• The use of statistics in valuation
• How to use research, design, and organization to develop a work plan
• Interpretation of catalog information and prices

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Introduction to Personal Property Valuation - 201

Personal Property Valuation: Report Writing - PP/GJ203 Event #63812

Writing an appraisal report requires clarity, accuracy, and grammatically correct documents. 2.8 CEUs

In this course, you will study:

• The components of a written appraisal report
• Appraisal report standards
• Communications and writing skills
• The development of an appraisal narrative
• Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requirements for donation appraisals, as well as insurance, damage, and loss appraisals

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Introduction to Personal Property Valuation - PP/GJ201 and Personal Property Valuation - Methodology: Research and Analysis - PP/GJ202

Personal Property Valuation: The Legal and Commercial Environment - PP/GJ204 Event #63861

This course focuses on the understanding of:

• Managing an appraisal practice, including contracts and operating costs
• Identifying legal precedents in insurance and tax law, established legal cases, and courtroom vocabulary
• Qualifying as an expert witness, as well as preparing for pre-trial activity and courtroom demeanor
• Developing an understanding of ethical and professional standards

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Introduction to Personal Property Valuation - 201, Personal Property Valuation - Methodology: Research and Analysis - 202, and Personal Property Valuation: Report Writing - 203
