Course Author

Keith Karnok Keith Karnok, professor of agronomy at The University of Georgia is the course author. Dr. Karnok has more than 30 years experience with both warm- and cool-season turfgrasses, has authored more than 250 publications in turfgrass management, and is a frequent speaker at regional, national, and international turfgrass seminars, workshops, and conferences. He is the recipient of many awards for his teaching, including the Meigs Award for Excellence in Teaching, UGA's highest teaching honor. He is a member of the International Turfgrass Society, American Society of Agronomy (Fellow), Crop Science Society of America (Fellow), American Association for the Advancement of Science (Fellow) and the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (Fellow). Fellow is the highest honor bestowed by a scientific or academic society. He is also a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Sports Turf Managers Association, and the Professional Landcare Association of America (PLANET). He is currently serving as president of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture.

A panel of green-industry experts, in affiliation with the Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA), was involved in developing the course outline and in reviewing the material presented in this course. In 2005, this course was reviewed and re-approved as a certification program by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), a newly-formed association created by the merging of PLCAA and ALCA (Associated Landscape Contractors of America).
