MARKETING RESEARCH INSTITUTE INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES
DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE MOBILE MARKETING RESEARCH COURSE
WHICH WILL DEBUT LATER IN 2013

Issued:  February 7, 2013

ST. LOUIS, MO, USA – The Marketing Research Institute International (MRII), in conjunction with the University of Georgia (UGA), announced that it is developing an online marketing research course covering mobile marketing research.  Reg Baker, Market Strategies International (retired) will edit the course which will be jointly written by Ray Poynter, author and Director of the Vision Critical University (UK) and Navin Williams, CEO of Mobile Measure (Shanghai, China). The course will be finished mid-2013.

MRII developing online mobile marketing research course

"We are delighted to develop this course because there is a big amount of interest in this new and growing area of research.  Mobile research shows great promise especially in regions where mobile technology is the primary form of communications" says Don Marek, Executive Director of MRII. "Despite great interest in mobile marketing research there is no formal education on this new aspect of our industry. Reg Baker's experience developing ESOMAR's mobile research best practices coupled with Ray Poynter and Navin Williams' practical experience make them the ideal team for the course. Most of us in the industry know Reg, Ray and Navin because of their many presentations on this and related topics at conferences worldwide."

According to Pam Bracken,  Department Head of Special Projects & Curriculum Development, Georgia Center for Continuing Education at the University of Georgia: "The new short course will present emerging technologies on the theory and application of mobile marketing research. Graduates will gain an understanding of how mobile marketing research is expanding and ideas on how they can apply this new form of research to their work. Successful participants will receive University of Georgia continuing education units (CEUs) as well as a Certificate of Program Completion from MRII and the University.  The new online course will cover these and other topics:

  • An introduction and overview of mobile marketing research.
  • The technologies that underpin and enable mobile marketing research.
  • The role of mobile marketing research in quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Best practices in designing mobile surveys.
  • International mobile marketing research studies.
  • The 'Bleeding Edge' and other debates.
  • Privacy and ethical consideration for mobile marketing research.

Because mobile marketing research is a fast evolving and promising area of marketing research, we expect the new course to have the same worldwide appeal as our other comprehensive, online marketing research programs."
