MRII Announces Reg Baker as New Executive Director

St. Louis, MO – July 11, 2014. MRII is pleased to announce the appointment of Reg Baker as Executive Director of the Institute effective October 1, 2014.

“Reg Baker brings a broad understanding of current trends in the market research industry and the challenges they present to market research educators. MRII is fortunate to have an industry leader with such a wealth of experience help us with our important mission,” said Barry Watson, MRII’s President.

MRII is a non-profit educational institute devoted to fulfilling the essential educational needs of people worldwide in the marketing research profession. MRII operates three online courses in cooperation with the University of Georgia.

Reg Baker has been active in the research industry for over 30 years and is an acknowledged and trusted expert in quantitative market research. Until his retirement in 2012, he was President and COO of Market Strategies International. He continues to be active in ESOMAR, CASRO and AAPOR and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world. Throughout his career, Reg has focused on the methodological, operational and management challenges posed by new research technologies including CATI, CAPI, Web and now mobile. He writes, presents and consults on these and related issues to diverse national and international audiences and blogs off and on as thesurveygeek.

“I look forward to helping MRII develop the research talent needed for a future that will be much changed from the market research industry we know today. The sometimes dizzying pace of innovation in our industry creates a need to educate new entrants and veterans alike in the use of new methods, even as we continue to promote the foundational principles of market research. Reg takes over from Don Marek who is retiring September 30.
