Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept the Hope Scholarship?
No. We do not accept scholarships, grants, and/or loans.

Do PPD courses count toward college credit?
No. Our courses are non-credit. Many of our courses offer either CEU, PLU, CPE, or RE Credit. You may request a transcript for CEUs by calling 542-8533.

Can you hold a space in a course until I can come to the office to pay?
No. You must provide a credit or debit card number to ensure a space in a course.

Where will my course be held?
If your course is held in the Georgia Center, class locations are listed at 4pm each day. Check the TV monitors (kiosks) each night.

Where do I park when I come to my class?
After 5pm, you may park anywhere on campus without paying. The exceptions are the parking decks, where a fee is charged.

Do you offer GED classes or testing?
We offer online instruction for the GED. To learn more, go to online courses. If you prefer classroom instruction, you should call Athens Technical College at 706-355-5000

I am an employee and/or student on campus. Do I get a discount?
No. However, for certain courses your department may be willing to pay for a course. In this case, we will need an official letter of authorization giving us permission to bill your department.

Will I receive a confirmation that I am in the course?
Yes, if you have an email address, we will send a course confirmation to your email address. If you prefer, we can mail a course confirmation to you, but you must make this request by calling 542-3537.

How will I know if my course is going to meet or not?
We will call you if your course cancels. If we can't reach you, we will leave a message on your answering machine.

After I take the Real Estate Pre-License course, can I get my Real Estate License?
No. You must pass the course's final exam in order to qualify for the state exam that is given by the Real Estate Commission.

Why do you need my birth date?
This is how we "file" students. Ours is a closed system in which we use your birth date in order to locate you. Your personal information is not shared.

Where is the Georgia Center located?
The Georgia Center is located on the corner of Carlton and Lumpkin Streets, diagonally across from Stegeman Coliseum. We are one block north of the UGA track.
