Georgia Science and Engineering Fair

Georgia Science and Engineering Fair

The Georgia Science and Engineering Fair (GSEF) is the state's ultimate venue for displaying the science and engineering research of Georgia's middle- and high-school students.

An invitation to compete at the Fair culminates a string of achievements. Every school in the state is encouraged to provide or join a local science fair at which students can share their research skills. Meritorious projects from local fairs can then be invited to exhibit at one of the 22 Regional Fairs held throughout the state in January and February. Of the Regional Fair winners, only 650 will be invited to compete in the GSEF in Athens.

By participating in a Science Fair at any level, students learn to isolate important problems and to attack and solve problems within the framework of organized, logical thought, careful research, and a detailed analysis of facts.

For information about a local or regional Science and Engineering Fair in your area, please contact your science coordinator or  Regional Fair Director or contact Academic Special Programs at 706-542-3554  or by gsef [at] georgiacenter [dot] uga [dot] edu (e-mail).
