Lois J. Ricci, RN, GNP, Ed.D is a geriatric nurse practitioner/educator and consultant. She holds masters degrees in gerontology and nursing education and a doctorate in adult education. She has worked in the field of aging for over thirty-five years in both hospital and academic settings. Lois was the interventionist for an NIH/NIA grant for reducing falls in the frail elderly populations. With colleagues, she designed a Peer Training Program for Adults for the Center of Health in Aging. She has coordinated and presented education programs for Emory and Mercer Universities, and worked on the Georgia Geriatric Education Center grant project at the Institute for Gerontology at The University of Georgia. Prior to moving to Georgia, she owned and managed a not-for-profit Home Health Care/Adult Day Care Service in upstate New York for 20 years.
Dr. Ricci works with AARP Department of Technical and Adult Education, Lifespan Resources, Mercer Senior University and Atlanta Regional Commission. She has designed education programs for several senior living facilities and adult programs in Metro Atlanta. Professional organization memberships include American Nurses Association, National Staff Development Association, Georgia Advanced Practice Nurses Association, and the Georgia Gerontology Society.
