Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People (Live Lecture)
Instructor: Deborah BelcherIs your piano or keyboard sitting idly by waiting for someone to play it? Have you tried traditional piano lessons but eventually quit out of frustration? Contrary to what you've always been told, learning to play the piano need not be a time-consuming regimen of scales, exercises, note-reading, counting and theory. You can learn to play the piano the way the pros do -- with chords. This innovative approach gives you the skills you need to play several songs right in class -- then develop your techniques at home using the class workbook and 60-minute CD provided by the instructor. Join this fun, effective class, and you'll be playing your favorite songs soon after this one session! For a free start-up pamphlet on reading the treble clef quickly and easily, send a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope to SMI, 31 Killian Rd., Asheville, NC 28804. A $25 materials fee (workbook and a 60-minute practice CD) will be collected in class by the instructor. During this class you will learn: How chords work in music; musician's "short-cuts;" how to speed read sheet music; how to derive all major, minor, and seventh chords; how to handle different keys and time signatures; simple techniques of "counting;" and how to substitute for 12,000 complex chords.
