Photoshop for Photographers

Photoshop for Photographers begins with the basics but then goes into an in-depth look at Photoshop CS6/Photoshop Elements 10. You will learn the following: the use of adjustment layers and selections; image formatting for emailing and printing or digital scrapbooking; scanning, restoring, and hand-coloring old photographs; cropping images; adjusting for correct exposure and color; and you'll learn how to calibrate your monitor and printer for best results. Instructor-created video tutorials are available. If you have not purchased your digital camera, contact the instructor first.

Instructor: 

Jim Morgenthaler bought his first Nikon when stationed in Korea in the Air Force. Exploring Korea and Japan with that camera sparked the interest in photography that continues to this day. Jim has been teaching photography in Athens for 35 years and has been involved with digital photography for the last 20 years. He has been teaching for the Professional and Personal Development program at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education since his retirement from the University of Georgia. During his work life at UGA, Jim produced educational video, film, computer graphics, and still photography. See the instructor's photos.

Prerequisite Courses: 

Moderate to extensive experience with a computer is an absolute must, as basic computer skills will not be taught. Some experience with photo editing software is desirable, but is not required.
