Harriette Austin's Creative Writing Workshop (Live Lecture)

In a safe, relaxed environment, experienced and novice writers share ideas and work on effective, expressive dialogues and narrative. Plot, character development, setting, tone, and point of view are discussed for fiction and nonfiction. You must be 18+ to attend. Writing for Money: The Art of Freelance Nonfiction Journalism (Live Lecture)
Instructor: Wally Eberhard
Learn the essentials of nonfiction journalism from an award-winning UGA journalism professor. Learn how to write newspaper features and columns, book reviews, and magazine pieces. Topics include: the story idea, what editors want, essentials of reporting and research, and writing the story. You will be given assignments in developing story proposals, and you will write a draft to be shared with others.
