- Showing students a variety of career paths and helping them map out their own
- Being responsive to the needs and interests of individual students
- Providing resources and contacts for future study and exploration
Other things you should know about Summer Academy @ UGA:
Your child will have fun here.
We don't subject our students to boring lectures. Our programs use a wide variety of techniques to stimulate your child's interest and create a fun and exciting environment, including hands-on activities, field trips and guest speakers.
Your child will be safe here.
We will keep your child safe, both physically and emotionally. Students are constantly under the guidance of our instructors and highly-trained staff. We set high standards for our students' behavior, and insist that everyone involved in our program is treated with respect.
Your child will be challenged here.
We encourage our students to step out of their comfort zone and see what they can accomplish. By creating an environment that is safe and supportive, we allow students to push themselves and try new things without the fear of failure.
We are not a typical day camp.
Our students are interested and motivated individuals who are excited about immersing themselves in their chosen subject. It is important to assist your child in selecting a program that can hold their interest for the entire week. We have exciting activities and breaks throughout the day, but nothing can make the program fun if your child isn't interested in the subject at hand.
