ENGLISH GARDENS STUDY TOUR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM PROVIDES UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCE ABROAD |
Athens, GA - Calling all gardening enthusiasts! Are you interested in learning more about English Gardens? The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel will offer the English Gardens Study Tour Certificate Program, June 14-22, 2006. Participants of this education tour will visit a dozen gardens, castles, and arboretums in England. The multi-day tour will be led by UGA Professor of Horticulture, Dr. Jim Midcap.
Pamela Bracken, the department head of Certificate Programs at the Georgia Center said, "This tour will give participants the opportunity to visit some very unique gardens. Not all English Gardens are created equal. There are many styles of English Gardens that are visually attractive with their vast flowers, shrubs, trees and plants, and are also quite practical. Numerous kinds of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs can be found in these gardens, and often provide culinary delights and medicinal uses."
While touring the gardens of England participants will have the opportunity to learn about the many features that make up outstanding gardens, identify new plants, develop an appreciation for plant combinations, gain new ideas about ornamental plantings and maintenance, share ideas with fellow garden enthusiasts and earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs), as well as a Certificate of Completion from the University of Georgia.
Registration is limited and a non-refundable deposit is required. For more information or to guarantee your space, please contact the Department of Certificate Programs at The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel at (706) 542-6692, (800) 325-2090 or e-mail Bob.Wells@georgiacenter.uga.edu.
