CASE FILINGS INCREASE, LEGAL PROFESSION OFFERS A CAREER OF OPPORTUNITIES
|
Athens, GA - According to the American Bar Association more than 352,000 criminal and civil cases were filed in American courts in 2004, which is a nine percent increase in the number of cases filed in 2003. Due to the increasing number of case filings and expanding client demands, paralegals are performing more challenging duties and are assuming greater responsibilities in law firms, corporate legal departments, and governmental offices.
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel will offer a new session of legal studies courses online, including the Paralegal Certificate Course, May 1-June 16, 2006.
Other 7-week, legal studies courses include: Alternative Dispute Resolution (Mediation) Certificate Course, Legal Investigation Certificate Course, Legal Secretary Certificate Course, Legal Nurse Consultant Training Course, and Victim Advocacy Certificate Course.
This challenging curriculum has been offered nationwide since 1980 from the Center for Legal Studies, and is consistently modified to keep up with relevant changes in state and Federal laws. Successful graduates will receive their Certificate of Completion from the University of Georgia. Sallie Mae Financial Loans are available for qualified students.
