GEORGIA CENTER ANNOUNCES 2006 INCOME TAX PROGRAMS

Athens, GA - The Department of Professional and Personal Development at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education is pleased to announce the 2006 Income Tax Programs. These programs are offered to certified public accountants and attorneys at locations throughout the state of Georgia, including Athens, Atlanta, Dalton, Duluth, Gainesville, and Stockbridge. Program I, "Legislative Income Tax Update," is a course that updates practitioners on the most important tax issues for 2006. This session reviews the major trends and changes in case law and regulatory law.
"Legislative Income Tax Update" program topics include:
Impact of the 2005 tax legislation on individual and business clients
Key cases and rulings affecting individuals
Hot new capital gain and loss strategy that your clients need to know
Recent developments for S-Corporations, Partnerships and Corporations
Includes 2006 RIA Tax Guide provided by UGA
Program II, "1040 Income Tax Workshop," helps practitioners stay abreast of current changes and major issues in preparing individual tax returns. This practical, hands-on workshop will focus on the key elements of changing tax laws and will include practice guides, worksheets, checklists, and tables that will be invaluable in the coming tax season.

Form changes, filing issues and up-to-the-minute announcements
2005 Energy Act and the Taxpayer Increase Prevention Act
2006 Pension Protection Act
Stealth reduction in the phase out of personal exemptions and itemized deductions
