"NOT FORGOTTEN" ART EXHIBIT OPENS IN OCTOBER AT THE GEORGIA CENTER
Athens, GA - The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center & Hotel will host "Not Forgotten," an art exhibit presented by artist Mary Padgelek. The exhibit, free and open to the public, is on display until October 31, 2006 in the Center's Hill Atrium. The Georgia Center is located at 1197 S. Lumpkin Street in Athens, Ga.

"Not Forgotten" is an exhibit dedicated to the life of Alvia Padgelek, Mary Padgelek's mother-in-law. The artist encompasses Alvia Padgelek, the flowers she loved and the vitality of the Athens community as they have passed into a combination of myth, reality and our need not to forget. Through watercolor and acrylic paintings, Mary Padgelek says she captures the image of this grandmotherly woman surrounded by the manifestations of her loving labor among the flowers and vines of her garden in a brightly colored and realistic to impressionistic style.

For more information about "Not Forgotten" please contact Mary Padgelek at 706-372-0713 or via e-mail at marypadgelek@charter.net.
