GEORGIA CENTER TO OFFER PARALEGAL CERTIFICATE COURSE IN OCTOBER AT UGA CAMPUS IN LAWRENCEVILLE, GA
Athens, GA - Once again the paralegal career will grow faster than the majority of professions during 2006 and beyond according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Due to the increasing number of case filings and expanding client demands, paralegals are performing more challenging duties and are assuming greater responsibilities in law firms, corporate legal departments, and governmental offices. Paralegals are virtually indispensable to the cost-effective delivery of legal services in cities across the United States. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the number of paralegal positions will increase 29% through 2012.

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens, Ga., has recognized the need for skilled paralegals and will offer the Paralegal Certificate Program curriculum via live lecture format this fall, Fridays and Saturdays for eight weekends, Oct. 6-Dec. 2, 2006, at the University of Georgia Gwinnett Campus, 100 University Center Lane, in Lawrenceville, Ga.

This intensive, nationally acclaimed program is designed for beginning as well as advanced legal workers. Students will be trained to interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, prepare legal documents, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. The instruction is practice-oriented and relates to those areas of law in which paralegals are in most demand.

Financing is available to qualified candidates through Sallie Mae® Financial Loans.
