Georgia Center announces professional investigative training and
certificate programs for this Fall
|
Athens, GA - (July 27, 2007) - Corporate investigation & private detection is one of the
fastest growing careers in the United States. According to the U.S.
Department of Labor, "keen competition is expected because private
detective and investigator careers attract many qualified
people. ... Employment of private detectives and investigators is expected
to grow faster than the average." http://www.bls.gov/oco/oco20016.htm
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference
Center & Hotel will offer the Corporate Investigation & Private
Detective Certificate Program, beginning September 14, 2007. Classes
will meet Fridays (6-9:30pm) and Saturdays (9am-4:30pm) on September 14,
15, 28, 29, October 5, 6, 19, 20, November 2, 3, 16, 17, 30, December 1,
7 and 8, 2007.
This 80-hour certificate program is specifically designed to provide
participants training in the field of corporate and private
investigation. The course introduces the fundamentals of investigation;
investigations in private sector including but not limited to: retail
security, corporate security, insurance investigation and general
investigation (e.g., hotel, hospitality, etc.); the basics of the
industry; knowledge of legal requirements and licensing and more!
Taught by Board Certified Instructors, this comprehensive, fast-paced
program is in compliance with State Board Rules and exceeds the minimum
requirements set forth by The Georgia Private Detective and Security
Agencies Act.
The Corporate Investigation & Private Detective Certificate Program also
supports professionals in other careers who need to learn the skills and
techniques for obtaining information, e.g., corporate professionals,
paralegals, insurance adjustors, law enforcement personnel, etc.
In addition to the Corporate Investigation & Private Detective
Certificate Program, UGA will also offer two new professional
investigative training programs courses this Fall. Professional Case
Management for Investigators will be held Oct. 9, 2007, and Introduction
