Georgia Center to offer two new project management and event marketing courses
|
Athens, GA - (March 9, 2007) - The Department of Certificate Programs at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education is pleased to announce the Conference & Meeting Management Certificate (CMMC) program is expanding the curriculum to offer two new advanced courses for the experienced meeting/event planner who has been in the industry a minimum of five years.
Project Management for Meeting Planners
Event and meeting planning requires managing projects for effective use of resources, monies, and time. This three-day workshop takes participants step-by-step through the fundamentals of project management PLUS provides hands-on applications through team projects. The exercises are designed specifically for the meeting planner.
The Project Management for Meeting Planners course will be offered Fri., April 20, 2007, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.; Sat., April 21, 2007, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; and Sat., April 28, 2007, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Participants will receive 1.8 University of Georgia Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Event Marketing for Meeting Planners
In this two-day course, participants will take an event through the critical marketing strategies that are needed to brand an event, drive attendance, increase media coverage, maximize fundraising, and develop sponsorship and exhibits to enhance profitability.
This hands-on course will guide participants through event marketing strategies and developing customized marketing plans that can be applied to upcoming events. By the conclusion of this course participants will complete a marketing project.
Event Marketing for Meeting Planners will be offered Sat., May 5 & 12, 2007, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Participants will earn 1.5 University of Georgia Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Both courses will be held at the University of Georgia Gwinnett campus, 100 University Center Lane, Lawrenceville, Ga. Lunch is not included with any of the sessions.
