Georgia Early Care and Education Professional Development System
In collaboration with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, the Professional Development System promotes the professional development of individuals who work in the early care and education field with children from birth through age five and in after-school programs. Components of the system include Trainer and Training Approval, the Georgia Professional Development Registry, and Technical Assistance designations. For more information visit the website at www.training.decal.state.ga.us.

Trainer/Training Approval
Georgia Trainer/Training Approval reviews and approves training intended for early care and education professionals to meet the minimum clock hours required for child care licensing. Before submitting an application for state-approved training, individuals must first be assigned a Trainer Designation by Georgia Training Approval based on their qualifications. For more information visit the website at www.training.decal.state.ga.us.

Georgia Professional Development Registry
The Georgia Early Care and Education Professional Development Registry is a statewide, secure, online database that tracks the education, credentials, training, employment experience, contributions, and professional accomplishments of its members. The Registry serves as a valuable resource for early care and education professionals and the Georgia workforce as a whole, as it documents changes in the workforce over time. For more information visit the website at www.training.decal.state.ga.us.

Georgia Technical Assistance Designations
Through the Georgia Early Care and Education Professional Development System, professionals currently working in the early care and education field providing technical assistance are eligible for the designation of Technical Assistance Candidate, Technical Assistance Associate, or Technical Assistance Specialist depending on their experience and formal training/education. These designations may help Technical Assistance professionals grow professionally by recognizing their experience and formal preparation in providing technical assistance. For more information visit the website at www.training.decal.state.ga.us.
