How to Enter the Contest

Instructions to Writers:

  1. All entries must be submitted through the online Official Entry Form. Dates for the 2008 contest have not been determined.

  2. Write 150-400 words on the assigned topic. Editing assistance is allowed, but this must be your own work.

  3. You may write in Spanish or English. If you write in Spanish, include an accurate English translation (you may have someone else translate).

  4. Use ordinary black font and single space.

  5. Your essay body may not contain your name, school, or names of specific teachers. Also, it may not contain offensive or inappropriate language.

  6. The six regional winners and six runners-up will be required to submit a signed parental consent form as soon as they are notified that they have won.

  7. Entries that do not follow these instructions will be discarded.

  8. Late entries cannot be considered. We are not responsible for delays or for submissions that cannot be read.
