Current Topics and Trends in Communication Sciences and Special Education
Education professionals, speech-language pathologists, clinicians, and students are invited to attend the fourth annual Communication Sciences and Special Education Summer Institute and Pre-conference held at the University of Georgia on June 13-15 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel. Participants will gain insights, strategies, and knowledge related to the topics of behavior management, current issues in educational law, IEP compliance, assistive technology, brain-based education, and spelling instruction and intervention. The institute will feature three keynote speakers, including nationally known author, researcher, and professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Utah, Dr. William Jenson; Carolyn Phillips, nationally recognized consultant in the field of assistive technology, advocacy, and self-determination and director of Georgia Tools for Life; and Dr. Ken Apel, professor and Director of Communication Science and Disorder at The Florida State University, who is a distinguished researcher on the underlying linguistic components that support the development of reading and spelling.

Event Cancellation Policies
(1) A cancellation received by 5:00 p.m. ET on or before June 6, 2012 will be refunded, minus a $35 processing fee. No refunds will be issued thereafter; substitutions will be allowed. (2) To change or cancel your registration, call 800-884-1381, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. (3) If an event is cancelled for any reason, the UGA Hotel and Conference Center will not be responsible for any charges related to travel.
