Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to learn about recent and ongoing public service and outreach activities and goals at UGA and honor award recipients during the 23rd Annual Public Service and Outreach Meeting and Awards Luncheon. (12:00 Noon – 1:30 p.m., Magnolia Ballroom)
Following the luncheon, the 2013-14 Service-Learning Fellows will present a poster session highlighting the service-learning courses and projects these faculty fellows have developed during their year-long fellowship with the Office of Service-Learning (OSL). The OSL is jointly supported by the Offices of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach and the Vice President for Instruction. (1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Atrium)
At 2:00 p.m. the Honorable Gretchen Corbin, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, will speak about "Building Communities — Together. " (2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m., Masters Hall)
The Honorable Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, will deliver the keynote address “Georgia’s Economic Future and How UGA Can Help Make It Brighter”. (3:00 p.m., Mahler Hall)
