Work-life balance is the ability to manage the responsibilities and demands of your career with those of your personal life. Learn tactics to manage the effort you devote to your job versus the time you spend on personal relationships, hobbies, leisure activities and yourself so you can be happy and productive in both areas of your life.

Laura M. Little, Chick-fil-A Distinguished Professor for Leadership Advancement, Professor of Management, Terry College of Business, University of Georgia

Laura M. Little is the Chick-fil-A distinguished professor for leadership advancement and a professor of management at the Terry College of Business. Her research centers on work-family dynamics, with a particular focus on how individuals navigate the intersection of professional and personal roles. She has explored topics such as the experiences of pregnant employees, and the challenges of integrating work and life in meaningful ways. In addition, she studies emotions and emotion management. Little’s work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science and Personnel Psychology. Her insights have also been shared more broadly through media outlets such as The Washington Post, U.S. News and World Report, Forbes and Bloomberg. She currently serves as the micro deputy editor at the Academy of Management Journal. Little earned her B.A. from Vanderbilt University, her M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University.
