Managing Your Own Professional Development

Do you have an individual development plan? Would you like to create a personal development plan that supports your growth and helps you reach your career goals? This session will introduce participants to the GROW model (Greatest assets, Room for improvement, Outcomes, and What will it take?) and show how it can be used to develop an effective and personalized development plan. We’ll explore the value of education, experience and exposure as key strategies for growth and provide an overview of the many university resources available to PSO staff members, including the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), the Professional Education Portal (PEP), LinkedIn Learning, Continuing Education at the Georgia Center and development programs offered by Public Service and Outreach.

Learning Objectives:

  2. Understand how to connect individual development planning to the UGA Staff Competency Model
  3. Learn about resources and tools to aid in the creation of an individual development plan
