UGA’s Event and Meeting Management Certificate can give you the knowledge and skills required to plan, organize and manage successful events.

Day One of the course focuses on Best Practices, which lays the foundation for planning and implementing a successful event. The following four days have two 3.5 hour sessions, each with a different topic. These include:

Get the clock hours of continuing education for the Certified Meeting Professional Exam
Becoming a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) signifies a meeting professional's competency and excellence in their field. A requirement to sit for the CMP Exam is 25 hours of continuing education. Our course satisfies this continuing education requirement for both the CMP Exam and recertifying your CMP. Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on the last day)
Students will be awarded a Certificate of Program Completion for 3.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon completion of 35 hours of course work.
Attendance Policy and Other Important Requirements:
Timely and successful completion of written and oral assignments is required. To receive your Certificate of Completion, your attendance is also required for all class sessions (9 sessions over 5 days).
Military Funding Information:
The Event and Meeting Management Certificate Program has been approved by the Department of Veterans Services to receive GI Bill funding. Spouses of active duty military members that are eligible for MYCAA and active duty military members that are eligible for Air Force TA and Army TA may contact their education service officer to apply for course approval.
