About this camp
Curious about how the world around you works? Like to explore and investigate? Have a vivid imagination? This signature series of hands-on STEM summer camps is specially designed for inquisitive young minds.
If you’re passionate about wildlife, the outdoors, and the science of living things, you’ll enjoy discovering how animals survive in their environments by experiencing adaptations firsthand. Over the course of one week, we’ll learn through engaging, fun activities–from testing arctic animal blubber with ice water experiments to trying different bird beaks to catch food, creating fossil impressions, and playing predator-prey games outdoors.
Throughout the week, we’ll also encounter live animals and their habitats as we explore exciting locations, such as the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, the Georgia Museum of Natural History, turtle pond ecosystems, and Bear Hollow Zoo. Through nature walks, scavenger hunts, ecosystem studies, and sensory observations, you will practice real scientific skills like observation, data collection, hypothesis testing, and identifying plants and animals, all within a fun and age-appropriate camp.
