What you’ll learn
You’ll learn the fundamentals of the eDiscovery process, including how to prepare, collect, and review Electronically Stored Information (ESI). You’ll gain insights into best practices for ESI handling, legal, technical, and ethical considerations, and be introduced to the entire eDiscovery workflow through comprehensive online modules and a supporting textbook. Offered in partnership with CLS by BARBRI, this course will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate the eDiscovery landscape effectively.

Learning objectives
- Describe the key stages of the eDiscovery process, including preparation, collection, and review of Electronically Stored Information (ESI).
- Demonstrate best practices for collecting ESI in a simulated legal scenario.
- Analyze case studies to identify ethical, legal, and technical considerations in eDiscovery.
- Apply foundational concepts of eDiscovery to real-world civil litigation situations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies used in eDiscovery for accuracy and compliance.
- Create a simplified plan for managing ESI discovery in a hypothetical legal case.
Continuing Education Information
This is an accelerated course. You will be expected to spend an average of at least 8 hours per week reading, taking online modules, and completing assignments. Please note that extensions will not be granted for this online course. 70% is the minimum passing score on all tests and assignments for this course.
