What you’ll learn
Armitage’s Herbaceous Perennials for the Sun is an online certificate program authored by the Dr. Allan Armitage, one of the world’s leading experts on and researchers of perennials. In the self-study course, you will read and hear Dr. Armitage’s insights on how to plant, propagate, and care for 20 of his favorite perennials. The course is online, so that you can progress on your own schedule.
You’ll be using Dr. Armitage’s renowned textbook, Herbaceous Perennial Plants: A Treatise on their Identification, Culture, and Garden Attributes. Other resources include online access to the professor’s audio clips, videos, interactive exercises, and end-of-lesson self-quizzes that provide instant feedback.

Schedule
Enroll at any time and complete the course’s required graded components within 90 days.
Fees & funding information
$169 – regular fee (US Funds)
$50 – One-Month Extension (Only one extension is granted per participant.)

Prices are listed per person. The textbook is not included in course fee.
Cancellation or refund
If you have not accessed the online course at all, you may request a refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. Requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after the issuance of your course access information.

Technology
Use a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. Throughout the online course you will encounter many images, maps, links to external websites, animated exercises, and audio/video clips. A fast Internet connection is highly recommended.

Dr. Allan Armitage authors this course. He is well known and highly acclaimed as a writer, speaker, and researcher. He is recognized as a leader in introducing outstanding plant varieties to the industry. Before Dr. Armitage retired from the University of Georgia, he ran the research gardens where new plant material from most of the world’s flower breeders is evaluated.
