What you’ll learn
This course trains you to support crime victims by understanding legal terms, procedures, and rights. You will build counseling and advocacy skills for cases like assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Topics include ethics, crisis response, guardianships, and victim effects, preparing you to work in shelters, crisis centers, hotlines, and with government agencies. Offered in partnership with CLS by BARBRI, this course qualifies you for the Provisional Credential through the National Advocacy Credentialing Program, enhancing your role within the criminal justice system.

Individuals seeking victim advocacy training and skills necessary for a career in the legal field.
Continuing Education Information
Students will be awarded a Certificate of Program Completion for 4.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successfully completing the course.
This is an accelerated course. You will be expected to spend an average of 8-12 hours per week reading and completing assignments. Please note that extensions will not be granted for this online course. 70% is the minimum passing score on all tests and assignments for this course.
