Cancellation & Refund Policies


Standard Cancellations & Refunds
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel any class or make changes it deems necessary to provide students with the best educational experience possible, as well as to ensure the health and safety of all members of the university community.
The Georgia Center for Continuing Education is not responsible for any personal expenses incurred, including but not limited to transportation, lodging, supplies, etc., due to a cancellation.
Refund of a credit card payment should appear on the next billing cycle. Check, cash, and debit card payments will be refunded within four (4) weeks.

Business & Leadership
Project Management Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $250 cancellation fee, for cancellation requests received no later than seven (7) days before the course start date. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu. If you are unable to attend the scheduled course dates, you may request a transfer to the next available course offering. Only one course transfer is permitted.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $150 cancellation fee, for cancellation requests received no later than seven (7) days before the course start date. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate for Healthcare
We will issue a refund, minus a $150 processing fee, if you have not accessed the online course at all. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after your course access information is issued.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $250 processing fee, if you have not accessed the online course at all. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after your course access information is issued.
Event Planning and Meeting Management Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $150 processing fee, for cancellations made no later than 30 days prior to the start date. No refunds for cancellations after that date. If a program is canceled for any reason, the Georgia Center is not responsible for any cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
Business Writing Fundamentals
We will issue a refund, minus a $45 processing fee, for cancellations made at least ten (10) days before the course start date.
Sherpa Executive Coaching Certification Program
We will issue a refund, minus a $250 processing fee, for cancellations made before February 23, 2026. No refunds for cancellations after that date. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent via email to gc-student@uga.edu. If the program is canceled by the Georgia Center, we will refund the full enrollment fee. Please note that the Georgia Center is not responsible for any cancellation or change fees charged by airlines or travel agencies. Our office will issue a final confirmation to participants around February 26.

Governmental Training
If you have not accessed the online course at all, you may request a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. Requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after the issuance of your course access information.

Grant Writing and Nonprofits
Grant Writing Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $100 processing fee, for cancellations made at least ten (10) days before the course start date. No refunds for cancellations after that date. All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted via the “drop request” feature in the participant (registration) portal.

Healthcare and Pharmacy
Introduction to Biomanufacturing & Quality Basics for Cell and Gene Therapy Products
We will issue a refund, minus a $35 processing fee, for cancellations made at any time if you have not accessed the course’s online materials. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent via email to gc-student@uga.edu.

Human Resources
We will issue a refund, minus a $150 processing fee ($175 if a voucher was also purchased), for cancellations made at least thirty (30) days before the course start date. No refunds for cancellations after that date. If any course print materials were shipped to you, these must be returned unopened to avoid being charged 50% of the entire course fee. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent via email to gc-student@uga.edu

Languages & Interpreting
Spanish English Medical Interpreter and Spanish English Legal Interpreter
We will issue a refund, minus a $100 processing fee, for cancellations made at least ten (10) days before the course start date. No refunds for cancellations after that date. All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted via the “drop request” feature in the participant (registration) portal.
Professional Interpreter in Education, Professional Interpreter in Special Education, and Professional Translator in Education
We will issue a refund, minus a $75 processing fee, for cancellations made at least seven (7) days before the course start date. No refunds for cancellations after that date. All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted via the “drop request” feature in the participant (registration) portal.

Market Research
We will issue a refund, minus a $100 processing fee, if you have not accessed the online course. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent via email to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after your course access information is issued.

Teaching, Training & Education
Introduction to Instructional Design and Development and Instructional Design and Development Practicum
We will issue a refund, minus a $75 processing fee, for cancellations made at least five (5) days before the course start date, if you have not accessed the online course. No refunds for cancellations after that date. If the program is canceled by the Georgia Center, we will refund the total enrollment fee. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent via email to gc-student@uga.edu.

Test Prep
If you have not accessed the online course at all, you may request a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. Requests must be sent to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after the issuance of your course access information.

Turfgrass Management & Gardening
Principles of Turfgrass Management Certificate (online)
If you have not accessed the online course at all, you may request a refund minus a $75 cancellation fee. Please note that once you have accessed the online course, you are no longer eligible for a refund. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent in writing via email to gc-student@uga.edu no later than seven (7) days after the issuance of your course access information.
Principles of Turfgrass Management Certificate (print) and Sports Turfgrass Management Certificate
We will issue a refund, minus a $75 administrative fee, once we receive your returned materials. All cancellation and refund requests must be sent in writing via email to gc-student@uga.edu or via telephone at 706-542-3537 within thirty (30) days of registration.
