About this camp…
Brought to you by popular demand, come workshop a story in a sanctuary among other young writers. Submit between 2-5 thousand words of your literary endeavor, whether it’s a captivating short story, the opening chapters of a novel, or a collection of evocative poems and flash fiction. Brace yourself for an immersive experience as your work undergoes the discerning eyes of two professional authors, offering critiques that will sculpt your narrative into a polished gem. In addition to a personal workshop with one of the instructors, you’ll be sorted into writing groups to learn firsthand how experienced authors collect feedback and use it in meaningful ways to make changes to their stories. At the end of the week, you’ll have a workshopped piece revised and polished for our class anthology. This immersive experience is where your stories come to life, guided by the wisdom of professionals and the collective energy of your fellow wordsmiths.
What you need for camp
Students must submit a writing sample to be work-shopped at least two weeks before camp. Students need to bring a laptop or tablet with word processing capabilities with them to camp each day.

Kaitlin Bevis spent her childhood curled up with a book and a pen. If the ending didn’t agree with her, she rewrote it. Because she’s always wanted to be a writer, she spent high school and college learning everything she could to achieve that goal. After graduating college with a BFA in English: Creative Writing, an MAT in English: Secondary Education, and an E.d.S in School Library Media, Kaitlin went on to write the bestselling Daughters of Zeus series. You can learn more about Kaitlin and her books at KaitlinBevis.com. This is Kaitlin’s seventh year as a Summer Academy instructor.
