Financial Planning Academy Camp

Financial Planning Academy, developed by Texas Tech University and funded by Charles Schwab Foundation, is a unique summer program that offers rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors' education and training in the core areas of personal financial management. The week will include working on a financial planning case study, developing a financial plan, and participating in other competitions for scholarships and prizes. In addition to promoting financial literacy among America's youth, the camp will provide insight into the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) industry and show students the value of financial planning as a profession. Note: this camp will require an application.

Location Info:

Students will check in at the residence hall on Sunday evening and check out on Saturday morning. Activities take place all over the UGA campus and Athens. During the program, students will travel around by foot, bus and university vehicle. We will have social activities and fun field trips planned for the students during the week. More details will be available in your confirmation email and in the welcome email sent out three weeks before camp begins.

Prerequisites:
None. This course is designed for students with little to no background in finance or money, and is open to all students in this age range who are interested in exploring personal finance and careers in the financial industry.

Students are asked to bring laptops to this camp. Summer Academy at UGA is not responsible for keeping track of students' personal belongings and is not liable for anything that gets lost or broken.

Our staff takes great care to provide everything your child needs for their camp’s specific needs. Please look for the camp outline for required program supplies in your parent information e-mail sent three weeks before your camp. Overnight supply lists will be included.
