About this camp
If you’re interested in fashion design, fine arts, sculpture, product design, or any hands-on creative field, this camp will be your playground. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and transform raw materials into wearable art!
Explore jewelry and adornment through this intensive, hands-on camp, offered in collaboration with the Lamar Dodd School of Art. You will gain access to university-level instruction and professional studio facilities as you dive deep into the world of metalworking and design.
During the program, you will learn about the history of this art form, as well as basic metalworking and jewelry-making techniques. Through dedicated, hands-on instruction, you will develop skills in sawing, filing, texture application, powder coating, and metal coloring. You’ll master fundamental skills like sawing, piercing, filing, and applying textures, and experiment with color on metal using methods such as powder coating, colored pencils, and paint.
By the end of the week, you will work with various materials to design and craft a personal collection of handmade jewelry bracelets, pendants, and earrings. Leave with your own unique collection and the foundational skills to continue your creative journey.
