About this camp

Spend a week exploring a variety of studio practices at the Lamar Dodd School of Art’s UGA Summer Art Camp. Throughout the week, you’ll rotate through:

Fiber & 3D Art
Turn fabric, found objects, and random materials into seriously cool creations! Try embroidery, weaving, sculpture, upcycling, and even wearable art as you experiment your way into new ideas and build your skills with shape, space, and texture.

Drawing & Painting
Level up your painting and drawing skills with bold colors, mixed media, and creative techniques. You’ll explore visual storytelling and play with dynamic compositions while shaping your own artistic style in a chill, supportive studio space.

Phototography
Grab a camera and jump into the world of digital photography! From studio lighting to editing to portrait shoots, you’ll get hands-on practice that helps you snap photos with confidence and make images that truly stand out.

Printmaking & Book Arts
Explore the awesome world of printmaking through linocuts, woodcuts, monoprints, and more. Then turn your prints into handcrafted artist books, so you leave camp with your own mini collection of unique journals and artwork.

Then, to finish off the week, showcase your work in a group exhibition for family and friends to admire.

You’ll get to create in real studio spaces with guidance from faculty and experienced instructors from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at UGA. You’ll also visit the Georgia Museum of Art, the UGA Art Library, and work in professional facilities designed to inspire you and help you grow. Along the way, you’ll meet other creative teens from across Georgia.

All skill levels are welcome; just bring your curiosity and love for making art!
