The purpose of the recertification course is to assist design professionals and plan reviewers in recognizing, comprehending, and applying the latest changes in federal and state requirements for land-disturbing activities.

Who Should Attend?

This course was specifically created for individuals currently holding mandated certification in GSWCC "Level II — Introduction to Design." The professions include but are not limited to: Design Professionals, Plan Reviewers, Engineers, and Landscape Architects. The course is available to both Georgia residents and out-of-state participants conducting business in Georgia.

Effective Jan. 1, 2013, GSWCC must verify the legal immigration status of any person 18 years or older seeking to obtain or renew certification.

As a result of a law change to O.C.G.A. & 50-36-1, the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (Commission) is required to obtain a signed and sworn affidavit verifying the applicant's lawful presence in the United States accompanied by a copy of at least one "secure and verifiable document."

The Georgia Center will gladly issue a full refund if you cancel before we send you course access information. You may receive a refund less a $50 administrative fee if you cancel after we send your access information, provided that you have not accessed the course at all. This course was designed in a way so that students are able to successfully complete all requirements independently, without the aid of an instructor. This course was authored and is updated by a representative of the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC). Jack Guerry Thomas Jr., from McDonough, Georgia has been with GSWCC since 2002. He holds a number of GSWCC certifications and is the Georgia DOT Certification for Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor. His current work with GSWCC involves providing technical assistance to the commission, design professions, local issuing authorities, developers and concerned citizens.
