This session will help staff communicate with confidence and influence, whether proposing new ideas, advocating for resources, or highlighting their contributions. Staff will learn how to present their ideas, initiatives, and accomplishments in a compelling, professional way. Participants learn simple frameworks for organizing persuasive messages, how to tailor their communication to different stakeholders, and how to advocate for themselves.

Speaker:

Marci Campbell, Public Service Faculty, Carl Vinson Institute of Government
A public service faculty member at the Institute of Government, Campbell develops and teaches leadership and management programs for client groups such as Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, Georgia Association of Code Enforcement, and Georgia Chapter of American Public Works Association. She also serves as the director for the institute’s Certified Manager® Program. Her previous work experience includes teaching in traditional and non-traditional settings to a wide range of audiences. She also served on the Watkinsville City Council from 2013 to 2020.
